Science, technology, engineering and mathematics competition involving six schools from the region
Friday 10 – Sunday 12 May
ISPP Field & Swimming Pool

ISPP recently hosted a STEM-X event involving six schools from the region.

The junior students built and competed with Lego Mindstorm robots on day one and, on day two, designed and built cardboard based boats.

The senior students worked in mixed school teams to design and build machines to launch projectiles such as golf balls.

Day three of the event was the final competitions. Two cardboard boats completed the 25m race across the pool without sinking. The seniors’ throwing machines averaged throws of around 20 to 40 metres with one machine throwing an amazing 70 metres!

Many thanks to the organisers and teachers who worked hard to make this possible and students who came to participate.

Take a look at the video our students’ media team Retake has made.
