The Cambodia Teacher Training Project (CTTP) is a teacher training centre located in Kandal province, on the outskirts of Phnom Penh. Young Cambodian high school graduates study at CTTP for two years to become public school teachers across the country.
Up to 200 trainee teachers learn to teach the national curriculum, while also learning innovative ways of teaching with few resources. The CTTP does not receive government funding and is entirely dependent on the donations of ISPP and a small number of other schools internationally to finance its annual operating expenses.
ISPP has provided financial and administrative support to the CTTP for more than 15 years. Many of our students and staff have provided their time, skills and knowledge to the trainees over this time.
In 2018, ISPP completed an ambitious fundraising project to finance the major structural repairs to a condemned accommodation building at the CTTP site. The $120,000 campaign succeeded in saving the home of 100 teacher trainees, enabling them to continue their education at the centre and contribute to the future of Cambodia.
