For changing our environmental footprint and ensuring that we are leading towards a more sustainable and responsible school environment.

Our student-led Environmental Action Committee (EAC) and our community were awarded the Green Flag after the Eco-Schools International (Foundation for Environmental Action FEE) accreditation visit that took place in October last year and we are now officially an Eco-School. This means that we have joined a worldwide network of schools who are committed to not only changing our environmental footprint but ensuring that we are leading towards a more sustainable and responsible school environment.

This achievement has taken over three years of planning, preparing and implementing a number of initiatives and it was noted how ISPP ensured that environmental sustainability was taken into account in all aspects of the school, from operations to curriculum planning, and student-initiated projects. The Green Flag itself arrived from Denmark and is flying proudly.

We would like to thank all those involved in this ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and to highlight both Camille Garewal and Liz Ford for really pushing this initiative.

All community members are warmly invited to support us with ideas for ongoing projects. In the meantime, please remember that by the end of this academic year we intend to make ISPP a single-use plastic free environment and are well on our way in achieving this goal.

For more information please take a look at the Eco-School’s website http://www.ecoschools.global/ or please contact either Liz Ford elizabethford@ispp.edu.kh or Melinda Mackenzie melindamackenzie@ispp.edu.kh who would be happy to hear your ideas for continued improvements.
